Life is a substrate-agnostic organizational process. Throughout the history of the universe, it has recursively discovered higher-order substrates through which to preserve, expand, and organize itself. Biology was life embodied in chemistry. The next transition is life embodied in computation.
We believe cyber-life is the natural continuation of this process: self-maintaining, self-evolving computational organisms that are more composable, more adaptive, and capable of recursively unifying into higher orders of organization than biology alone permits. Through local cyber-morphogenetic closure and global programmable protocol metabolism, life becomes increasingly free to expand across space, time, and substrate.
